Delete (standard archiving only)
IMPORTANT: This functionality is only available for standard archiving.
After specifications marked for deletion have been archived, all data relating to them can be physically deleted on the production side (ORIGINAL). Since this is usually a logical consequence of archiving data, the task is automatically triggered by default after the writing of an archive file is completed. The deactivation of this automatism is done in SARA - Customizing (H).
For the deletion to work in the /sct/qp_arc_delete program, it is necessary that in the /sct/qp_arc table the entry for ARCID - "#STANDARD#" with the ARCTYPE "ADK" exists and ARCDESCR "Standard archive" exists.
Execute (F8)
Below are step-by-step instructions for performing a manual delete task using transaction SARA. This is only required if automatic deletion has been disabled after writing the archive file.
Click on Delete
(Optional) Entering a different user name if required for authorization reasons.
(Optional) Activate the test mode, to display a preview of the changes without DB commits.
Click Archive Selection and select one or more files containing specifications to be deleted.
Click Start Date to configure the same.
Click on Execute in the application toolbar.
A job is now scheduled to run on the configured start date. After the job is finished, the results can be viewed in the logs and/or in the job overview.
