Object types hold the contents of a node together. Mostly represented as Tabs (A), they form one of the main elements of QPPD.
The example additionally shows a header object type with standard information about the specification type.
Example object types: Header object type - upper part; Tab object type - lower part
The definition of the display of the tables within a tab is done via the column group.
In the above example, the object type "Properties" (this is also the name of the tab) is composed of various elements. Each element in this case is defined by its own line. The elements have different properties for the information content (numeric, date, text).
Since the same object type can be used in different specifications with the same meaning but different groupings and characteristics of elements, the elements within an object type are assigned to an element group.
The following procedure is recommended since the element manages the highest level of detail in the information chain:
Definition of conversion rules - information type (text, numeric, date, boolean value)
Technical definition of the element with the specification to point 1
Definition of the object type with element group and corresponding elements
Definition of the column group for display in the table
Definition specification type/item type
Assignment of object types to a specification
