In Customizing for specification types and item types, you can influence the display of the objects to be displayed in the section Object type assignment. This can be useful since individual tab pages sometimes contain very little information. You can increase the information content of a QPPD tab page by grouping several tab pages in one tab page.

Using the splitter, several object types can be displayed on one tab page instead of individually without any programming knowledge. To do this, you can specify the output and position within the screen for different object types from a predefined set of different variants. To make these settings, there are 4 columns (allocation table, group, line, and column) in the section Object type assignment.

Field

What does it do?

Allocator

Via a dropdown menu, different predefined variants for splitting the splitter can be selected (e.g. 2 on top of each other or 1 left + 2 right).

Group

Indicates to which splitter the object type belongs.  Several splitters can be used per item category.

Row

Specifies the line in which the object type is to be located in the splitter (e.g. for the variant: 2 on top of each other, line = 1 would be the top line and line = 2 the bottom line).

Column

Specifies the column in the splitter in which the object type is to be located (e.g. for variant: 2 side by side, column = 1 would be the left column and column = 2 the right column).

What to consider?

In the first step, the "main object type" of the tab to be displayed in the QPPD is defined. In addition, it must be known in advance how many object types are to be combined. (at least 1 main object type + 1 further object type). For each allocation table, a separate group is defined numerically by incrementing.

Jach object type of a group receives a row/column assignment. It should be noted that this must match the selected variant,

It is also important that the "Hidden" indicator is checked for all object types except for the "Main object type". Otherwise, the object types that should only be displayed on the splitter would additionally be displayed as individual tabs.
