Flexible and extendable methods for the maintenance of element values are provided:
Plausibility check
Plausibility check rules can check the valuation of element values. If the validity is violated, warnings or error messages are issued. Individual messages can also be configured.
The following plausibility check rules are available
Defined values from a value list
Date
Both single values and interval values with corresponding unit conversions are plausible.
Value list
Value lists for elements can be created from different sources:
Domain, defined values for an element with multilingual text and validity period
Specification Type, QPPD objects with specification types with multi-language text, validity period, and status
SAP ECC Object values of SAP standard business objects such as business partner or material master.
Table or CDS-View individual values based on tables, database views, or CDS views.
Classification values from classification characteristics
In addition to the master key, the value list contains the descriptive multilingual text.
Constraint-based plausibility check
Value lists can be additionally filtered depending on other element values. Any combination of conditional element values can be mapped. The set of rules for the conditional check, also called context check, can be created from different sources:
Domain tab strip page for the specification type Domain
Specification type, tab strip page for the relevant regulation type
BRFplus Business Rule Framework with the use of decision tables.
Search helps
Search helps display the possible values according to the value list. Value lists from conditional plausibility checks are also supported. The following types of search helps are possible.
Domain, key values with multilingual text, and filtering by the validity period
Specification type, key values with multilingual text, and filtering by validity period and status
SAP ECC object, search helps for the SAP standard object such as business partner or material master.
Individual search helps based on table or CDS-View. Conditional plausibility check Element values are automatically included in the selection conditions.
Standard values and mandatory fields
Based on the value lists with context check, default values can also be specified. The source for the default value definition is in:
Domain, for the context element combinations standard values, and mandatory field controls can be defined.
BRFplus, a Business Rule Framework using decision tables for context check, a default value, and mandatory field controls can also be specified.
