The material master gets an additional "Product Definition" view. Via this tab in the material master maintenance, any QPPD objects can be assigned to the material master and edited.

When copying material masters, QPPD objects are also copied.

More typically, sets of rules for automatic generation and plausibility checks are also used for the QPPD objects. The update of the QPPD objects for the material master can be triggered by a mass generation. The status of the generation is displayed for each material master.
