QPPD has archiving functionality fully integrated into the SAP Standard Archive Development Kit (ADK). In addition to standard archiving, where the data is always either productively present or archived (we call this standard archiving), there is another archiving option called version archiving. This method works like a simple file export/import tool but is also integrated into the ADK environment, with all the corresponding advantages such as logging and file management.

Regardless of the archiving method, QPPD provides a special view of the productive master data cockpit that is adapted for displaying archived specifications (the archive cockpit).

The following functions are included:

• Restoration of archived specifications to the productive state

• Display of archived specifications including references

• Physical deletion of archived data

• Writing data (master/transaction data) to archive files

• Mass deletion flag for QPPD data for archiving purposes
